As dawn breaks, Sera, a goddess who embodies the spirit of Mother Earth, awakens for a single day once every 100 years. This time, in today's modern world of technology and disconnect, Sera emerges from the Green Belt in Austin, Texas, a palatial habitat of rivers, creeks, and forest. She is immediately pursued once again by the Wyrd Sisters, a trio of wacky, wild and wicked witches that must feed on the Earth Mother every 100 years in order to survive. This time as the Wyrd Sisters invoke their intoxicating incantation, a mysterious force of light breaks their spell. Sera escapes and is rescued by fate as Dave, a dazed and confused stoner on his way to work, nearly crashes into her with his truck. Dave bashfully notices her nakedness while Sera frantically pleads non-verbally for him to help her find safety. Realizing she has nowhere to go, Dave decides to take her to his Uncle Walton's house.Taking this detour causes Dave to lose his job. Dave, depressed and frustrated, smokes a joint while Uncle Walton tries to cheer him up with some freshly-baked magic brownies. Realizing suddenly that Sera has disappeared, Dave finds her laying outside in the backyard. They slowly fall into a shared day-dream and an ancient memory from Sera's past reveals the carnage of the Wyrd Sisters.Dave wakes up and finds Uncle Walton has made a dress for Sera. Together, Uncle Walton and Sera try to convince Dave that magick is real and she is the Earth Mother. Reluctant to believe them, Dave is forced by Uncle Walton to continue to watch over Sera until a coven of witches convenes at his apartment later in the afternoon. After traveling in silence to Dave's apartment, Dave sequesters himself to his bedroom. Lost in another vision of her past, Sera is startled by Cody, Dave's roommate who just got off work from a hipster Taco truck, and invites Sera to join him in a bowl of marijuana.Smelling the dank marijuana, Dave joins them, proceeding to tell Cody about his terrible day. Dave goes on to complain about his Uncle Walton, who has consigned him to the task of safeguarding Sera till a "bunch of witches" show up. Cody, knowing Uncle Walton and his connection to the occult, begins to enlighten Dave about the legend of the Earth Mother.Meanwhile, the starving Wyrd Sisters arrive at Dave's apartment complex after picking up Sera's scent again. At the same time, Warren, a mysterious loner, arrives via a city bus. Sera immediately picks up Warren's scent and escapes the apartment running to protect them, followed by Dave and Cody to a field just behind the apartments. Just as the Wyrd Sisters attack, Vera, an unknown force, arrives with a blaze of light, banishing the Wyrd Sisters from the property by spilling her blood.Being foiled, the Wyrd Sisters converge downtown, in the heart of Austin, Texas, to invoke Hecate, the Queen of Crones and Witchcraft, to empower them. While our coven of witches, Dave, Vera, Warren, and Cody, gather at the apartment complex's pool. After Warren reveals an anonymous letter, Dave quickly recognizes Uncle Walton's handwriting and questions Vera, his estranged friend and Uncle Walton's foster child, to explain what is going on. Vera indicates this is all a part of Uncle Walton's "master plan" and that tonight they must perform a Mystical Rectangle ritual under the full moon.Subsequently, Uncle Walton is performing his own Earth Magick ritual while the full moon rises. When the maniacal Wyrd Sisters enter his home, mocking their prey as they prepare to kill him. Suddenly, Walton strikes a singing bowl, submerging the Wyrd Sisters in a cacophony of cleansing, sound magick. The Wyrd Sisters writhe in agony, distracting Walton from Hecate's entrance and psychic ambush. After dismissing the Wyrd Sisters, Hecate playfully torments Walton for impeding the Wyrd Sisters' ability to consume Sera. Walton reminds Hecate of their past relationship, pleading with her to look at her past and what caused her corruption. Acknowledging it was betrayal, she lashes out and strikes Walton, who dissipates into a prism of light.Consumed with emotions, Hecate flashes back to a moment of betrayal where Sera abandons her while manifesting a great flood of destruction. In her distress, Hecate begins to transform into a malignant creature, embracing her corrupted magick.Gathering in the woods at the edge of the apartment grounds, Dave, Vera, Cody, Warren and Sera begin their candlelit ritual. The group, guided by Sera and Vera, begin by calling upon the four alchemical elements (earth, air, fire, water) culminating in a cumulative chant, "Blessed be Mother Earth, Blessed be Father Time, Blessed be the Universe." The chant awakens Mother Earth's consciousness within Sera, transporting the group into a meditative state at the edge of the universe where we hear Mother Earth's voice for the first time.Mother Earth shares her story and awakens the spirits of the elemental guardians within Dave (water), Vera (fire), Cody (earth), and Warren (air) -- reminding them of their reincarnated past lives. As the ritual ends, Sera releases Mother Earth's consciousness upon the Earth and vanishes leaving the group in a state of ecstasy. Suddenly awoken with a profound understanding of his past connection
to Sera, Dave groggily sets out in search for Sera in the nearby woods.Sera finds Hecate and the Wyrd Sisters waiting for her in a clearing outside the apartment grounds. They attack Sera, who vanquishes the Wyrd Sisters by transforming their corrupted energy into pure light. A heartbroken Hecate realizes her time has come to an end and makes amends with her mother before becoming one with the Earth Mother's essence.Sera returns deep into the greenbelt, breathing in the last moments of her day on earth. Dave approaches her and as they embrace, they both share a memory when they shaped the planet together. After a bittersweet goodbye, Sera vanishes into light. Dave is left pondering and forever changed by his new enlightened perspective. A few hours later, Dave returns to find Vera, Cody and Warren relaxing on the grounds under the shade of tall trees. This new coven of friends, eternally transformed by the magick of the Earth Mother.
