Michelangelo - Infinito (2017)

Biography,Documentary,Drama
Ivano Marescotti
The film portrays the life and works of the absolute genius of universal art: Michelangelo Buonarroti, a man and an artist who is shy and restless on the one hand and at the same time capable of great courage in supporting his convictions and ideologies. 4K HDR definition accompanies the description of his vast artistic production, including drawings, painting and sculpture, as well as amazing reconstructions through sophisticated digital effects. The viewer is led into the artist's world (from historical reconstructions to artworks) through two protagonists: Michelangelo Buonarroti and Giorgio Vasari. The latter, famous art historian, artist and architect, through an authoritative narrative is the reliable and passionate guide of the film; at the same time Michelangelo, in a conceptual limbo represented by a Quarry of Carrara Marble (one of those in which he worked to extract his marbles), recalls the main points of his life, with the torments and the crucial moments of his existence. The impassioned interpretations of the two protagonists accompany the viewer to the throbbing heart of the film: the story of the artworks. We find Bacchus, the Vatican Pieta, the David, the Tondo Doni, the Prisons and the Moses, the Vault of the Sistine Chapel and the Last Judgment, the Medici Chapels and the secret hiding place, the Rondanini Pietà, accompanied by insights entrusted to the narrating voice and edited by Prof. Vincenzo Farinella (former scientific consultant for the film Raphael - the Prince of the Arts). Michelangelo Buonarroti is Enrico Lo Verso (The thief of children, Lamerica, Hannibal, Che Guevara, I Miserabili, Raphael - the Prince of the Arts), while to embody Giorgio Vasari is Ivano Marescotti (Johnny Stecchino, Hannibal, Cado from the clouds, A Casa tutti bene).
