Chief Brody's son Mike Brody is working at the SeaWorld, a thematic park owned by Calvin Bouchard that is ready to inaugurate the Undersea Kingdom complex, composed of underwater tunnels to see the life in the sea. Mike's girlfriend is the senior biologist Dr. Kathryn Morgan, who also works in the park. He is waiting for his brother Sean Brody that will spend a couple of days with them. Sean meets the skier Kelly Ann Bukowski in a bar and dates her. The park is located in a lagoon connected to the sea through a gate. While the gates are opened with a defect, a great white shark hides inside the lagoon and nobody notes. When the mechanic Shelby Overman repairs the gate, he is attacked by the white shark and dies.
